Who’s who at New York Bound Books:
Barbara Cohen Publisher
Barbara Cohen co-owned and operated New York Bound Bookshop, a store dedicated to rare, out-of-print, and new books and ephemera related to New York City from 1977 through 1997. When the bookshop closed, she began writing an annotated reference and guide of the city’s literature from its pre-settlement days to 1950, with descriptions as well as excerpts and illustrations to bring old New York to life. This site is an online incarnation of New York Bound Bookshop as well as a venue where Barbara can share her bibliographic knowledge of books about New York.
Yukie Ohta Editor-in-Chief
Yukie Ohta is the editor-in-chief of New York Bound Books and a columnist for SoHo Life Magazine. Born and raised in SoHo, she blogs about the area’s history at The Soho Memory Project (www.sohomemory.com) and is currently writing a memoir about growing up there in the 1970s.
Special thanks to Jan Lakin, Lee Cohen Hare, Bruno Navasky, and Sarah Geller for their input on this site.
